FieraMilanoCity Exhibition Complex
Milan has been hosting large exhibitions and trade shows since 1920 at the central Milan site named FieraMilanoCity. The newest of Milan’s trade exhibition centres is the ultra-modern Fiera Milan Rho centre to the north east of the city – further from the centre than FieraMilanoCity. Opened in 2005 from an investment of €755 million, this exhibition centre is the largest and most important in Italy expecting around 5 million visitors per year. Striking in its appearance with a futuristic glass undulating roof and state of the art technology, the Fiera Milan Rho Exhibition Complex hosts around 70 shows per year making it one of the world’s largest trade fairs hosting major corporate and cultural clients such as the European Expo 2015 event. Superb transport links to the airport and to Milan city centre also mean that visitors can be within the historic Milan and its sights within moments – the centre even has a metro station in the complex in addition to a suburban overland railway station.
